Coming to The Discovery Museum from Queensland, Australia, is "How to Make a Monster, The Art and Science of Animatronics," a special exhibit which divulges the secrets behind how movie creatures are made through a unique exhibit experience that includes interactive elements you can really get your claws into! Created by Academy Award winning animatronics expert John Cox and his team from the John Cox Creature Workshop, "How to Make a Monster" showcases some of the stars of Cox's movie career (his creations include: Peter Pan, George of the Jungle 2, Inspector Gadget 2 and the recently released Nim's Island) with a behind-the-scenes look at the creative techniques used in visual effects and movie animatronics. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM and noon to 5 PM on Sunday. Admission is $7 and $8.50.
