Eugene O'Neill's play, Hughie, tells the story of a small-time gambler, who wanders home to a seedy New York hotel fresh from a grief-stricken bout of drinking: Hughie, night clerk and once-captive audience for the gambler's tall tales, has died. The Long Wharf's production stars Brian Dennehy, leading American stage and screen actor, who won raves for his performance of the play at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. Performances are Tuesdays through Sundays. Ticket prices vary.
