Whitcomb-Haney College "Success Program" Overview   Initial Consultation with Parents We first learn of the parent's objectives; your child's needs; educational goals; learning styles, and timing Introductory Meeting with Student Once there is a decision to proceed, we meet individually with the student. This is a "get to know" & information gathering discussion. Subsequent calls and meetings may be needed prior to the planning meeting. Our "College Success" Program Our hard copy review will answer three primary questions: (1) Who the student is; (2) Where does he/she want to go; and (3) How is he/she going to get there? This comprehensive presentation includes an "inventory assessment" of the student's area of interest and potential college majors and the preliminary list of colleges. We summarize the outcome of the meeting and usually there are a couple of follow-up meetings to finalize the plan. Execution of the "Success" Plan This is the most comprehensive aspect of our plan including our involvement in: standardized testing ; tutors review of progress; college trip planning, visits and follow-up; interview preparation; essay development; final selection of colleges; completion of applications; decision analysis on final selection among acceptances; preparation for the first year of college; and frequent dialogue during first year of college.
