Halloween Owl Prowl & Campfire at New Canaan Nature Center

New Canaan Nature Center offers families a great natural way to prepare for Halloween, their Halloween Owl Prowl & Campfire from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Meet two live owls and learn how to recognize owl calls, then head out into the field to see if one of our local Great Horned or Screech owls will call in. End the evening with a campfire (weather permitting) and a chance to roast S'mores for an evening sweet treat. Registration deadline is: October 6th. Cost is $11 per person.

The Harlem Gospel Choir in New Haven Concert

New Haven's Shubert Theater presents The Harlem Gospel Choir, one of the pre-eminent congregations of spiritual voices, founded in 1986 by Allen Bailey during a celebration in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The Harlem Gospel Choir has performed for Nelson Mandela and Pope John Paul II, with U2 in their movie "Rattle and Hum", Harry Belafonte, Lyle Lovett, The Chieftains, and Diana Ross. Their performance begins at 8 PM. Tickets are $15-$33.

The Charlie Daniels Band Performs at Ridgefield Playhouse Gala

Ridgefield Playhouse's 2008 Gala stars The Charlie Daniels Band, led by larger-than-life performer Charlie Daniels whose music incorporates rock, country, bluegrass, blues, gospel, and whose hits include: "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," "The South's Gonna Do It," and "Long Haired Country Boy."
