Irish Festival Takes Place in Danbury

WestConn hosts the 12th Annual Greater Danbury Irish Festival at the Ives Concert Park on the university's Westside campus. The event features Irish entertainment, imports, cultural exhibits, food and beverages, and Ceili and Set Dancing. Tickets are: $5 on Friday, $12 on both Saturday and Sunday, or $20 for a three day pass. Norwalk Oyster Festival 2008

The 31st annual Norwalk Seaport Association Oyster Festival 2008 features entertainment and exhibitors. Headliners this year include: Los Lonely Boys, the dynamic trio from West Texas, who open the festival on Friday, and The Oak Ridge Boys, legendary country music stars, who take the stage on Saturday. Hours are: 6-11 PM Friday, 11AM-11PM on Saturday and 11 AM to 8 PM on Sunday. Admission is $12, $10 for seniors and $3 for children 5-12.   More >

New exhibits at Silvermine Guild Arts Center include: "Adult Toys" by Drew Klotz, featuring the artist's iconic wind powered paddle sculptures as well as smaller, indoor hand cranked works along with interactive sculptures; an exhibit entitled Connections, featuring archeological artists Lou Hicks & Juliet Holland whose works communicate timelessness through texture and color; Hiding in Plain Site, June Ahrens's site specific installation exploring the world around us and Dialogue in Collage with Enid Munroe, Arthur Burke and Nancy Nikkal.
