CUTTING EDGE INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMS FOR KIDS - AN OKEMO SPECIALTY

Okemo -Kids with InstructorsOkemo Mountain Resort owners, Tim and Diane Mueller know a little bit about getting kids into skiing. They raised two children on the slopes and now their son Ethan is the operations director at Crested Butte Mountain Resort in Colorado, and their daughter Erica is a member of the Olympic snowboard team.

Most families visiting Okemo start with Okemo's Cutting Edge Learning Center. It's the one-stop shop for any skiing or snowboarding instructional need. Okemo's teaching pros know how to get everyone in the family skiing and snowboarding in style - particularly the younger members of the family. The Learning Center's unique and personal teaching approach is combined with the use of the latest in equipment technology. Okemo's award-winning children's programs accomplish two very important goals - they provide fun, exciting and valuable learning experiences for kids, and they allow parents to enjoy themselves, knowing that their children are being instructed and supervised by professionals. With two convenient locations offering the exact same programming, parents may establish their ski day hub at the Okemo's Clock Tower base area or the Jackson Gore base area.

Okemo SmilesBy consistently evaluating programs and services, Okemo continues to improve its children's instruction, allowing participants to reach their true potential through encouragement and accomplishment. At Okemo, the difference is confidence. Children as young as two-years old can participate in one-on-one, 30-minute on-snow sessions. Also, due to the popularity of the Learning Center's Mini Stars program for children ages 3 and 4, parents can choose to enroll their children as part of the Penguin Playground day care program or in sessions without the day care component.

In addition to the Snow Stars and Mini Stars programs, Okemo offers group lessons and private instruction for children. Parent and Tot Private (parents and kids age 6 and under) lessons are a great way for parents to see their child progress while an Okemo teaching pro provides tips to parents on how to help their children while skiing or riding together. The only requirement is that parents are able to ski or ride at least at level three and children should be age 6 or younger.
