THE WAA WAA SISTERHOOD
Okemo’s Women’s Alpine Adventure Offers Instruction and Inspiration

WAA WAA SISTERHOOD - OKEMO "Waa Waa!" It’s the cheerful cry that can be heard from one end of the resort to the other when Okemo Mountain’s Women's Alpine Adventure (WAA) programs are in session. It’s an emotional release signifying pure, childlike delight in the sense of discovery and accomplishment that comes with participation in Okemo’s women’s programs.

Maria Tomaselli heads the Women’s Alpine Adventures program at Okemo and it is her voice that women who have completed a session, report hearing when they’re faced with unfamiliar terrain. Honored by Skiing magazine as one of "America's Best Instructors," Maria has been a member of the Okemo family for many years and has a strong personal dedication to sports education for women. She is PSIA certified in both ski and snowboard instruction and has extensive experience coaching other sports as well. Maria is uniquely qualified to direct this program and has developed it into a truly memorable experience for all those who take part in it.

"When I find myself on a trail that pushes my comfort level, it’s Maria’s voice that I hear telling me to ‘just keep your feet moving’ or reminding me, ‘you are an athlete,’" says internet marketing manager and "WAA WAA" alumna Jennifer Cota. "Okemo’s Women’s Alpine Adventures gave me the tools to improve my skills and overcome fear and self doubt."   More >
