Sound Scientists Summer Programs 2010 For ages 6-12

EXPLORE OUR WATERY WORLD THIS SUMMER AT THE MARITIME AQUARIUM AT NORWALK

NORWALK, CT –   Kids ages 6 to 12 can spend their summer days diving into the exciting and fascinating ocean world through “Sound Scientists,” The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk’s upcoming season of summer day programs.

The Aquarium will show kids the fun side of science inquiry, with lots of hands-on activities and experiments. Single-day and weeklong sessions are available. Each session is different, so pick from one, some or all.

 

The one-day programs will be held first.
They’re for ages 6 to 9 and cost $85 each. 
Dates and topics are: 

Tues., June 29 – “Sharks & Fish”;  
Wed., June 30 – “Feature Creatures”; 
Thurs., July 1 – “For the Birds”;
Wed., July 7 – “Making Sense”; 
Thurs., July 8 – “Diving to the Depths”; and
Fri., July 9 – “Africa.”

 

Summer CmapersOne-Week Programs for Ages 6 to 10:

Cost of each is $385.
July 12-16 – “Movin’ On”
Aug. 16-20 – “Sound Art & Science”

One-Week Programs for Ages 6 to 8:

Cost of each is $385.
July 19-23 – “Otterly Awesome Animals”
July 26-30 – “Going Green”
Aug. 2-6 –  “Ocean Worlds”
Aug. 9-13 – “Water Wonders”
(co-hosted with Stepping Stones Museum for Children).
 

One-Week Programs for Ages 9-12:

Cost: $385.

July 19-23 and Aug. 2-6 – each session’s topic is “Junior Marine Biologists I.”

July 26-30 and Aug. 9-13 – each session’s topic is “Junior Marine Biologists II.”

“Sound Scientists” meets from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Precare is available beginning at 8:30 a.m., for $15 for the one-day programs and $65 for the weeklong sessions.

Extended care runs until 5:30 p.m., for $30 for one-day programs and $130 for weeklong sessions.

 
 

The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk inspires people of all ages to appreciate Long Island Sound and protect it for future generations. A vibrant and entertaining learning environment, it achieves this goal through living exhibits, marine science, and environmental education.
