Start your kids in a sport they'll enjoy for a lifetime - the wonderful sport of sailing! Located in Captain's Cove Seaport on historic Black Rock Harbor, with its friendly staff, Sailaway Sailing School's programs fit summertime schedules with two week sessions June 25th through August 17th with two sessions daily.

Their sailing programs combine hands-on instruction with fun activities to build confidence and encourage camaraderie. All students learn basic water safety, boat anatomy and the language of sailing. Sessions include some on-shore instruction but most of the time is spent on the water. Along with certified instructors, students start out on small sailboats which are great for learning the basics. The courses cover rigging, wind awareness, points of sail, tacking and jibing, and capsize recovery. As students become more experienced, they crew on larger, higher performance boats for more advanced instruction and some informal racing. The common element at Sailaway is simple - having fun!

Sessions are: June 25th - July 6th; July 9th - July 20th; July 23rd - August 3rd; August 6th - August 17th. Classes are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM to 5 PM.
